WFEL Fairey Brass Band

The WFEL Fairey Band is sorry to announce that it has parted company with conductor Adam Cooke.

Adam joined the Band in May 2020 in what were very difficult times, not just for brass bands but also the wider world. We would like to thank him for his effort and energy during this period and wish him well for the future.

Looking ahead, we are delighted that Arsene Duc has agreed to direct the Band at the British Open. Arsene’s record is outstanding, not just in his native Switzerland but also at the European Championships and the British Open having recently won both contests.

Assisting Arsene in preparation for the competition will be Philip Chalk and Mark Peacock, both former players with WFEL Fairey and successful conductors in their own right.

“To be able to work with a conductor like Arsene Duc is a privilege and an exciting prospect; the band looks forward to welcoming him.”
