New Musical Director for Brass Band of Central England

Following the recent announcement of the change of name of the “Jaguar Land Rover Band’ to ‘Brass Band of

Central England’, the band is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Musical Director Iain McKnight.

“We are delighted to welcome Iain as our new Musical Director” states band manager David Kershaw.

“Iain brings a wealth of experience with him, and we are excited to work together as we build the next chapter in the
band’s history. Iain takes over the baton from Brad Turnbull with immediate effect and we would like to
acknowledge the huge contribution Brad has made to the band over the last four years. We are also very
pleased Brad will remain part of our musical leadership team, supporting both Iain and our professional

conductor Howard Evans.

”Iain McKnight adds “I am delighted to be joining the JLR/BBCE team at this exciting and pivotal time. The band

a mix of wise experience and youthful zeal - is ambitious, determined, and hard-working and I join them in
sharing these aims. I am looking forward to working alongside Howard Evans as well as Brad Turnbull - both
musicians I have a deep professional respect for - as we pen a substantial new chapter in the band’s history.

”Iain’s first official engagement with the band will be on Saturday 22nd October when we join the Shipston Town
Band in concert. Please join Brass Band of Central England as we welcome Iain to the team.
