The results of the Belgian National Brass Band Championships 2022 are in!
Festival Brass Band claims the Belgian national title under the direction of Steven Verhaert and will represent Belgium on the European Brass Band Championships (EBBC) 2023 in Malmö (Sweden). The Belgian National Championships were held last weekend (November 26 and 27) at the CC Zwaneberg venue in Heist-op-den-Berg and were organized by VLAMO (the Flemish Association of Bands and Musicians).
Fifteen Belgian brass bands competed for the title in their division and were adjudicated by an internationally renowned jury: Sheona White (UK), Joop van Dijk (NL), Dr. Robert Childs (UK) en Florent Didier (F). Brassband Panta Rhei (Ghent) took first place in second and Koninklijke Brassband “De Grensbewoners” Smeermaas (Lanaken) in first division.
Festival Brass Band (Heist-op-den-Berg) claimed the Belgian national title in Championship Division through their outstanding performance of the test piece The World Rejoicing by Edward Gregson and their own choice selection of A Gabrieli Fantasy by Bert Appermont.
