ANNOUNCING THE CHANGE OF NAME OF THE JAGUAR LAND ROVER BAND

The Jaguar Land Rover Band is announcing that it is changing its name to THE BRASS BAND OF CENTRAL ENGLAND.

After an extremely successful 20-year period, the sponsorship support from Jaguar Land Rover is coming to an end at the end of the year.

“The band has been extremely fortunate to have had the proactive support of JLR over the past 20 years”, states band manager David Kershaw. “We have had the privilege to work alongside the community relations team at JLR for the majority of this time which has resulted in raising significant funds for charities and the community alike”. We all know things in business change, especially during these uncertain times, so we finish this chapter in the band’s history grateful for the support from JLR”.

In addition, this has been the most successful period in the band’s history. Winning the Midland Area Championships in 2013, qualifying for the National finals at the Albert Hall three times and competing four times at the British Open Championships at Birmingham Symphony Hall.

As well as many musical accolades, the band has been featured on international radio and TV, toured America and been the first brass band to take part in the English Music Festival.

As the band enters its next chapter, a new name was needed, and the name Brass Band of Central England was chosen. Although the band has strong roots in Coventry, members now travel from all over the Midlands, and this is reflected in the choice of the new name.

“We have a great team and over the coming months you will see more exciting announcements as the band transition to The Brass Band of Central England,” states Kershaw

During this time the band can be seen in concert in Shipston, Rugby, Moseley, and Coventry Cathedral. For further details please visit the band’s new website www.brassbandCE.com
