Kerwin for Kilimanjaro
Tabby Kerwin, creator and director of Mode for… is facing her biggest challenge yet as she sets to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in September.
The award winning mindset coach and best-selling author who has also just been nominated for several more awards including being nominated in two categories in the Yorkshire Choice Awards for Businesswoman of the Year and Independent Business of the Year and she has been shortlisted for the Small Business Awards UK is taking on the tough challenge to raise funds for two causes close to her heart; Cruse Bereavement Support to help support those experiencing grief and Brass on the Mind – a project created by Tabby to support the mental health of brass band musicians.
Funds raised will be split between the two causes and money raised for Brass on the Mind will go towards supplying free training to brass bands in mental health awareness as Tabby has an ambition to see every band in the UK with a mental health lead by 2027.
Tabby commented: “It is an intention and ambition to help every UK band have a mental health lead and to have access to free mental health training in order to support the mental health of our brass band musicians. This doesn’t just mean their role will be to spot, support and signpost mental illness, it will be to promote resilient, happy and healthy environments that help promote peak performance. I’m passionate about supporting our movement and making this training accessible and will be looking to deliver it in different ways including face-to-face, online and as downloadable courses to reach as many people as possible and develop a network of support for the people in the lead roles. It’s a big ambition and if I have to climb mountains to make it happen I will!”
Tabby’s plans and progress can be followed over at Brass on the Mind which can be accessed at www.modefor.co.uk or via the Facebook group which provides support and resources for anyone interested in protecting the mental health of our movement and performing at their best.
