Kidlington Concert Brass are excited to announce the appointment of our new MD, Jonathan Pippen.


Jon told The Bandsman “Having worked with KCB in an occasional capacity over the last three years I’m very pleased to have been asked to become their Musical Director. The band has a broad musical appetite, a genuine desire to achieve their best and I’m looking forward to leading them through the next chapter of their musical journey” and KCB added "We look forward to an exciting and successful partnership!" 


About KCB:

Kidlington Concert Brass was formed in 1992 by the merger of Oxford Concert Brass and Kidlington Silver Band. We are a friendly, sociable Championship Section band who enjoy both the challenge of contesting and the variety of preparing an entertaining concert program. In April 2023 the band was pleased to become a registered charity.


About Jonathan:

Jonathan has conducted recording sessions with the English Session Orchestra, West One Music and Sony, a tour to Vietnam with the Desford Colliery Band and was assistant Musical Director and 1st trombone for the Cameron Macintosh production of Half a Sixpence in London’s West End.
He is Professor of trombone at the London College of Music, Head of trombone studies for the British Army and is an examiner for the online music exam board MTB.
