Three Tenors to Visit Christmas Spectacular
Special preparations are being announced about the Black Dyke Christmas Spectacular with the news of guest artists at the Sage on 4th December, 2022.
Black Dyke have commissioned two new arrangements to feature brass band’s equivalent of the Three Tenors,
featuring Glenn van Looy, Daniel Thomas and John Storey.
The first, arranged by Alan Fernie, is entitled Verissimo, featuring the On with the Motley and Nessum Dorma
The second featuring the great Christmas Classic, O Holy Night arranged by Keith Wilkinson.
Black Dyke’s Music Director commented “It is great to feature some of the finest euphonium players that the world has to offer.
Glenn is flying in from Switzerland especially for the concert, and will be joined by the British Army’s ever popular euphonium player John Storey, and of course Black Dyke’s star player Daniel Thomas, perhaps I should encourage the audience to choose which is their own Pavarotti.”
Before the concert commences there will be a special 30 minute performance in the foyer of the Sage featuring the Redhills Youth band conducted by Tina Mortimer. During the morning soloists Richard Marshall, Brett Baker and Daniel Thomas will also lead workshops for young students, supported by Geneva Instruments.
The concert promises to be a real spectacular with over 100 musicians on stage for the finale featuring Black Dyke,
NASUWT Riverside and Reg Vardy who will also join forces with the Redhills Youth band.
